Episode 4 : Victims

This session focused on victims with a focus on routes to disclosure and practical support, including whistleblowing, low level concerns, victim blaming, and the use of language

The debate was chaired by Nazir Afzal former Chief Crown Prosecutor for NW England and most recently, he was Chief Executive of the country’s Police & Crime Commissioners. The panellists were Donna Jones, PCC Hampshire & Isle of Wight, Rhona Malone, Former Police Officer Police Scotland, Prof. Betsy Stanko Strategic Advisor Operation Soteria Bluestone & Dr Hannana Siddiqui Researcher & Policy Advocate Southall Black Sisters

It’s the fourth of six ground-breaking discussions that explore the scale and impact of male violence within policing and which draw on a range of internal and external specialists.

The aim of each episode is to explore how policing works in practice so we can better understand why it goes wrong – and how the problems can be remedied.
