The UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) recently organised and delivered a two week programme of leadership development support targeted at women in policing from across the British Overseas Territories. The first week was spent with Police Scotland, and the second week on a residential course based near Warrington, England. With nearly twenty representatives drawn from seven forces, the programme was judged an outstanding success by those attending.

PolicingTV was invited to attend on the final day of the programme, where we were able to interview course organisers and delegates, to hear their thoughts on the two week programme.

Our particular thanks go to Course Director, Maria Stanley, and to Course Tutors, Bev Smithyman and Kerry Harding, as well as to the delegates from Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, the Falklands, Gibraltar, the Turks and Caicos Islands, the British Virgin Islands and Anguilla.
