As part of a week’s filming for PolicingTV with Suffolk Constabulary, PolicingTV Presenter, Tom Gaymor, met two of the force’s most recent recruits – PC Sophie May and PC Benjamin Bridgland, three weeks in to their policing career.
“The experience [I’ve previously had] of helping customers has really shown me the difference I can make in the community, and I’ve thought, the best place [to deliver that] is in the police”.
“For me, it’s a very personal matter, my dad passed away when I was younger, and we received a death message by a police officer, and I thought you know, if I could do his role, and help other people in a safe manner, that led me to here, really”.
“I’m only 4 foot 11, so I’m not tall and big, but I’m genuinely not concerned – we’re going to have all the training, we’re going to have all the equipment, we’re going to have our team!”.
