You may not have heard of the Global Police Innovation Exchange – GPX, for short – but it plays an increasingly influential role in law enforcement across the world, allowing policing leaders from ten countries to share ideas and initiatives. The most recent meeting of GPX representatives took place at the World Police Summit, in Dubai, in March.

In  this episode filmed summer 20222 Danny Shaw speaks to Grant Nicholls about the GPX and how it operates.

Mr Nicholls, who’s the Chief Learning Officer with the Australian Federal Police (AFP), has 37 years’ experience in policing in several countries. He started his career in New Zealand where he became a district commander. He was deployed to Thailand after the 2004 tsunami, served in Glasgow and the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste (East Timor) and also spent time observing policing practice in the United States and Canada. From 2016 to 2019 he was Deputy Commissioner of the Northern Territories, in Australia.
