As a part of his continuing international Policing Friendship Tour, PolicingTV Founder and Publisher, Bernard Rix, recently travelled to Australia, to film and share examples of good and excellent policing initiatives from across the country.

Since the early 1960’s, the AIPM has been integral in developing police leaders, with more than 6,500 senior officials from policing attending AIPM courses and events. The Institute has both a national and global profile and reputation, for example playing a key role in the international Global Policing Innovation Exchange (GPX) Program. The GPX plays an increasingly influential role in law enforcement across the world, allowing policing leaders to share ideas and initiatives.

In this third video of four, AIPM Visiting Fellow Dr Jenny Cartwright explains her work at the Institute, where she is currently on secondment from Australian Federal Police. This work includes leading syndicates on the AIPM’s postgraduate diploma courses, as well as designing, organising and delivering some of the Institute’s world class programmes, both within Australia and overseas.

Filming took place in the week that a Women in Policing course, organised by Jenny, was being delivered. Jenny explains more about the aims, content and international nature of the course, and sets out some of the wider learning opportunities that have arisen from its delivery.
Jenny also talks about her previous career at the Australian Institute for Criminology, and how that experience has benefitted both the AIPM and the Australian Federal Police.
