On a windy day in Canberra, Australia, Policing Insight and PolicingTV Publisher Bernard Rix recently met Fortem Australia Chief Operating Officer, Darrin Lincoln. 

 

Fortem provides specialised wellbeing and mental fitness support to first responders and their families. They are a national not-for-profit organisation using research and best practice to support health and wellbeing.

 

Whilst walking along the banks of Lake Burley Griffin towards the Australian National Police Memorial, Darrin tells Bernard about the impressive reputation for “Supporting the Brave” that Fortem Australia has established amongst the first responder community since it was set up just three years ago. They also discuss some of the potential learning from Fortem’s work for those in the wider policing community beyond Australia.
