We explore the evolution of WeCops, a community platform for police officers, and discusses the integration of AI in policing, the complexities of drugs policing, and innovative training solutions using AI technology. We highlight the importance of collaboration and innovation in law enforcement to improve community service and operational efficiency.

WeCops is a UK-based independent platform and is a community for police officers, staff, stakeholders, and the public to connect, share, learn, and influence discussions on various policing topics through online posts, and also hosts in-person conferences. The event highlighted the evolution of the WeCops community and its commitment to innovation and collaboration in law enforcement.

Next up was a fascinating piece from Ben Twomey who asked the question “Does policing exist just to enforce laws, or is it bigger than that?” he was joined by Matthew Bacon, Senior Criminology Lecturer at Sheffield University, for a look at drugs policing today.

We were lucky enough to meet a number of organisations at the cutting edge of delivering innovative AI solutions into law enforcement at the recent World Police Summit in Dubai. Here we hear about a Deepfake Detection company, a world’s first in virtual reality training and a Czech based AI solution for supporting investigations.
