In this interview, Neil Morton-Smith, Senior Sergeant in the Western Australia Police Force, takes us around their new State Operations Command Centre (SOCC) which has been designed specifically for their needs, with significant improvements in functionality.

The key difference is the incorporation of radio dispatching functionality into the same facility as the operations command, allowing for a quicker response.

The SOCC also has partnerships with the Department of Communities, Department of Education, and Department of Justice, enabling access to information and collaboration.

The floor of the SOCC is divided into three hubs: South hub, operations hub, and command hub. The building has been designed to minimize noise and has strong connectivity for data and information sharing.
