Trevor Botting is a former UK Sussex Police senior officer, former Chief of Police at the Saint Helena Police Force, and former Commissioner at the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police and has been exploring for Policing TV the people involved in the policing of the British Overseas Territories.

Today he talks with Chief Inspector Lydia Davenport who has over 20 years experience with North Yorkshire Police, not the first role you would think of in terms of International exposure.

However Lydia has also worked globally, supporting the British Overseas Territories with the UK Home Office as part of the International Capabilities Team, as a lecturer for Police and Security in the UAE and currently Technical Program Manager for Childlight the Global Child Safety Institute.

In this second conversation, Lydia Davenport shares her extensive experience in overseas policing, particularly focusing on child protection initiatives in various countries. She discusses her work with the National Crime Agency in Kenya, the challenges faced in British Overseas Territories, and the importance of mentoring and training in ABE interviews.
