Festus Akinbusoye is a British Conservative Party politician who was elected Bedfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) in the 2021 PCC elections.
He is the first black Briton elected to this role. In this first part of a three part interview (recorded on a poor internet connection), he tells PolicingTV’s Bernard Rix what first led him to stand for election as a Police and Crime Commissioner, and sets out what he feels to be his key achievements during his current term of office – including providing support for victims of crime, amongst them the very youngest.
