PolicingTV and Policing Insight Founder and Publisher Bernard Rix recently visited the New Zealand Police College in Wellington, where he met the College’s Training Director, Warwick Morehu. 

 

In this first video of a two part series, Warwick begins by providing Bernard with a traditional greeting in Māori, before explaining the meaning of that greeting in English. Bernard and Warwick then discuss the importance and values that come from Māori tradition, before embarking on a tour of the College. Bernard also meets a number of the College’s lecturers and current students. 

 

The second video, to be published shortly, includes extracts from New Zealand Police recruit training, as well as from the formal proceedings to celebrate students’ graduation from the programme.
