After more than 200 years, is time up for the Vagrancy Act?

Presenter Ben Twomey is joined by Rosie Perkins, Campaigns Manager at Crisis, for a slice of history that is still relevant today. Rosie walks us through how the Vagrancy Act originally came about to criminalise “rogues and vagabonds”, but has continued to this day to criminalise rough sleeping. Hear insights on how the law is changing, why it has taken so long, and whether the police will need other enforcement tools if and when the Act is finally scrapped.
