Policing Insight and PolicingTV Publisher Bernard Rix recently met former Lancashire Police Chief Inspector Andy Doran for a Policing Friendship Tour walk-chat-and-video in the beautiful grounds of Bramall Hall near Manchester, England. 

Andy served for sixteen years as a police officer in Greater Manchester Police and Lancashire Police, latterly leading for Lancashire on Digital and Innovation. He’s recently joined Salesforce on a career break, to play a leading part in the company’s launch of their services into the UK policing market. 

Andy and Bernard discuss Andy’s policing career, and explore what led Andy to take the leap from public to private sector. Does he feel he’s done the right thing? Is there such a thing as “public service” in a private company? And might he one day be tempted to reclaim his warrant card, and put on a police uniform once again?
