As the Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency’s (ANZPAA) Strategic Foresight Advisor, Gareth Robinson has recently been responsible for leading the development of the first Australia and New Zealand cross-jurisdictional policing document on Artificial Intelligence.
In conversation with PolicingTV’s Founder, Bernard Rix, Gareth gives us more detail on his fascinating role – seeking to understand trends and signals that may impact on policing’s future ways of working. These range from climate change, geopolitical instability, technological disruption and more.
Gareth discusses Artificial Intelligence in general, and ChatGPT in particular, and the implications this may have for translation between different languages. He also touches on the potential for deep mining of the wealth of data that police forces typically have stored, as well as the opportunities that there are for the criminal fraternity to make use of these new developments. Gareth has led work for ANZPAA on the development of a “Strategic Foresight Toolkit”. He explains more in the video, plus offers PolicingTV the opportunity to learn yet more about the toolkit and Gareth’s work more widely.
