25-26 February 2026, Crowne Plaza, Stratford upon Avon

The National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC), College of Policing and the National Centre for Violence Against Women and Girls and Public Protection (NCVPP) will be holding their inaugural VAWG and Public Protection Conference.

The conference will serve as a call to action for senior policing leaders and partner agencies, driven by research that informs and improves frontline practice. Centring victim voices throughout, the event will feature keynote speakers, workshops, and thematic strands which will examine lessons learned, case studies, digital and data-driven innovation, and the intersection with neighbourhood policing.

The conference will create an environment where leaders can connect and reflect, leaving a clear sense of responsibility and a plan for action within their own forces or agencies. It will explore how to make spaces available for everyone – public, private, and virtual.

“I am delighted to be opening registration for the inaugural NCVPP Conference. Being bold about policing’s role in tackling the epidemic that is VAWG and wider public protection harms is our call to action. This is a conference tailored to senior police leaders, with experts in the field and strategic partners alongside to support our thinking. We have been challenged to set and deliver new national standards and we need you to be in the room to help us.

Over two days we will step through a series of demanding and thought-provoking sessions: from sexually motivated crimes in public spaces to the threat from extreme online misogyny. We will consider the opportunities and challenges of more centralised VAWG capabilities, including how dangerous offenders are tackled nationally, and we will explore what police reform means for this.

It is my ambition to have a representative from each force Chief Officer team to join and engage in the conversation. Your voice and insight is critical to delivering the change our communities deserve”.

DAC Helen Millichap KPM, NCVPP Director
