In 2022, UK police forces celebrated having over 50,000 women in its workforce following a government recruitment drive (Home Office). This has inevitably enhanced the level of diversity in the policing sector, coupled with a concerted effort across the forces to create a more inclusive workplace culture. However, a distinct lack of women in senior positions and frequent reports of harassment and sexism indicate that more needs to be done to advance gender equality in policing. By coming together to discuss challenges and solutions in the recruitment, retention and progression of female staff, police forces will be better equipped to support their female colleagues.

Join us at The Supporting Women in Policing Conference 2024 to hear the latest on improving female representation and supporting women in the police workforce.
