About the conference
This year, the NPCC Homicide Working Group will be returning to The Queens Hotel, Leeds to host the 2022 National Conference for Senior Investigating Officers.
In a world emerging from the Covid pandemic and returning to a new normality, and with early signs of homicide returning to pre-pandemic levels, the focus is on learning from shared investigative experience whilst adopting a reduction and homicide suppression mindset.
Delegates will hear from a broad range of guest speakers who will present on some of the most challenging investigations undertaken in recent years. The focus will be on investigative learning and potential considerations for future homicide reduction.
This year’s case studies will include:
• Operation Sandpiper – the investigation into extensive mortuary abuse committed by double murderer David Fuller
• Operation Mansell – the cold case re-investigation into the 1994 murder of six year-old Ricki Neave
• Operation Kayak – the cold case investigation into double murderer Ian Stewart
• Operation Temora – the investigation into the murder of Sarah Everard by Police Officer Wayne Couzens
