In-person
16th Jul 2025 to 16th Jul 2025
Wednesday 16th July 2025
Plexal, Here East, London, UK
7 July 2025 marks the twentieth anniversary of the London bombings and nearly 24 years since the 9/11 attacks in the United States that gave impetus to the development and implementation of national counter-terrorism strategies and new intelligence capabilities. The nature of the threats we face today are ever more sophisticated and increasingly in the cyber domain. We are also seeing a resurgence of State threats including hybrid combinations of information warfare, sabotage and subversion of democratic processes and systems.
Cityforum is reflecting on what we have learnt over the period since these and other major attacks. The day will consider the scale of the threats and our ability to counter and withstand cyber and physical assaults on our societies and systems underpinned by fast changing technology. The event, attracting notable speakers from both sides of the Atlantic, will consider how our digital intelligence and policy responses need to change and evolve. What do we need to start doing now to provide better assurance of safety for our communities into the future?
