In collaboration with Murdoch University School of Law and Criminology and delivered by AIPIO this session focuses on how Intelligence professionals can leverage tradecraft techniques and tools to foster innovation in a rapidly evolving intelligence landscape. The session combines theoretical Insights with practical applications, enabling participants to adapt to emerging challenges and opportunities.

In the high-stakes world of intelligence and national security, the ability to think critically, structure analysis, and deliver actionable insights is non-negotiable. This intensive workshop will equip intelligence professionals with a series of connected Structured Analytic Techniques (SATs)-developed and battle-tested in real-world counter-terrorism (CT) operations.

Led by Shannon Armstrong, a seasoned Intelligence analyst and trainer with 27 years of frontine experience, this workshop goes beyond theory. Through engaging lectures, collaborative exerases, and simulated Intelligence challenges, participants will learn to harness structured techniques that withstand operational pressure and post-Incident scrutiny.

  • Master SATs that have been successfully used in high-pressure CT environments
  • Learn how to select and apply the right analytical techniques to drive operational outcomes
  • Engage in hands-on group exercises that simulate real-world intelligence scenarios
  • Build confidence to conduct structured, defensible analysis under time constraints
