This conference will consider how ethical and effective interviewing practices have developed in a broad range of countries from the different legal, practice/practical and research standpoints.

  • Learn from fellow police practitioners and academics from around the world who will discuss the painful lessons from the past which are never to be repeated.
  • Latest research and effective practices on the single global standard of the Méndez Principles on Effective Interviewing, which is expected to be replicated widely, as together we advance interviewing globally.

Keynote speaker:

  • Juan E. Méndez, Professor of Human Rights Law in Residence at the American University – Washington College of Law.

Other speakers include:

  • Gísli Guðjónsson CBE, Emeritus Professor at the Institute of Psychiatry of King’s College London and a Professor in the Psychology Department at Reykjavik University
  • Becky Milne, Professor of Forensic Psychology, University of Portsmouth.
